BLive Opens its First Multi-brand EV Store in Kolkata



BLive, opened its first EV Experience store at CIT Road, Scheme VIM, Near Phoolbagan P.S, Kolkata, West Bengal. The EV Experience store was launched in the presence of Lopa Mudra, ex Miss Kolkata and Public Figure. The store offers a wide range of products for personal mobility and EV solutions for businesses.

With the rising petrol prices and increasing pollution there has been a pressing need in the country to switch to green mobility. But the problem of unawareness and low accessibility has been an obstacle in making the switch for many people. Through the store, BLive aims to offer multibrands EVs to customers. They offer electric two-wheelers, electric bicycles (e-bikes) and electric delivery vehicles all designed and manufactured by Indian brands. Like all other BLive stores, this new store will also have an in-house quick service kiosk, battery swap facilities and EV charging infrastructure.

BLive’s first Kolkata Multibrand EV experience store that launches at the beginning of the festival season showcases more than 20+ brands and brings everything related to E2W under one roof. The store is also looking forward to offering many festive offers to give a push to adoption of EVs in Kolkata. All the BLive stores currently feature key brands like Kinetic Green, Techo Electra, Gemopai, BattRE, Detel, E-Motorad, and others from charging solutions to post Sales service packages. Through the experience stores BLive brings a unique Phygital experience to help consumers experience and understand EVs before making a buying decision.

Speaking of the launch, Sandeep Mukherjee, COO & Co-Founder, BLive, said, “We are excited to launch our first store in Kolkata. With this new store in Kolkata, BLive is bringing Clean Tech closer to the people of Kolkata, thus joining the global vision of bringing down the carbon emissions to zero. The store is not only going to give the customers a hands-on EV experience but a variety of brands and designs of vehicles to choose from to suit their needs and budgets. The store will also provide an extensive after-sales EV care experience, including roadside assistance, easy finance options, comprehensive service packages and e-mobility spares parts.

BLive launched its first few Multi-brand EV Experience stores initially in South and West India. Now, the brand makes its first foray in the East with the Kolkata store. BLive plans to drive a deeper penetration in tier-2 and tier-3 cities where customers struggle to shift to clean mobility due to lack of options and is looking for more store partners on a franchise model to open more stores across the country.

Now Buy Okaya EVs on Flipkart, Know All Details Here



Flipkart announced the expansion of its electric vehicles selection with the launch of Okaya range of Electric Vehicles on its platform. With this launch, customers across hundreds of cities will get access to the widest selection of electric vehicles online and purchase it in a paperless and affordable manner. 

The launch of Okaya’s range of EVs on Flipkart will enable them to make their offerings available to a wider base of millions of Flipkart customers across 9,000 pincodes in 245 cities including metros such as Bengaluru, Delhi and smaller cities including , Gondia, Jorhat, Mumbai and Sultanpur.

Auto is one of the newest categories for Flipkart which was launched in July 2022 to bring a curated selection of multi-brand two-wheelers across vehicle types online, particularly EVs, to millions of customers across the country. Customers can simply go to the “Bikes and Cars” category and select “Two-wheelers” to access the selection, where they can also make use of Flipkart’s affordability constructs such as No Cost EMI and credit card offerings to make their purchases through a paperless experience. Flipkart also promises a 15-day guaranteed delivery.

The two-wheeler category has been witnessing impressive traction among customers with over 10x increase in searches since its launch on Flipkart.

BOLT Launches ‘BOLT LITE’ Universal EV Charging Socket



BOLT announced the launch of BOLT LITE, India’s First Safest, Smartest and Most Affordable Universal EV Charging Socket. Made-in-India, the BOLT LITE socket is compatible with all portable chargers that come with any EV and works with the existing AC power supply at home. The BOLT LITE charging sockets are available at an introductory price of INR 2599.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India has more than 1.3 million EVs on the road as of August 2022. The sale of EVs this year has gone up over three times as compared to the sales in FY 2020-21. The GoaI is targeting to achieve EV sales penetration of 30% for private cars, 70% for commercial vehicles and 80% for two and three-wheelers by 2030. To achieve this, India needs safe, smart and affordable EV charging solutions for home. The presence of safe EV chargers at home not only provides users with the convenience of charging their EVs but also boosts confidence among people who are considering purchasing it.

According to reports, more than 80% of EV owners charge their vehicles at home due to the convenience and low cost of residential charging. Most EVs come with an on-board charger which allows users to directly plug their vehicles into a standard 15A charging socket. However, apart from being slow and least energy efficient, these sockets do not offer any direct safety or monitoring features and are not recommended for long term EV charging. Unsafe charging at home using a standard 15A socket can result in sudden power surges which can damage the EV battery. News reports of EV batteries bursting into fire and creating blazes in India have been mostly due to the owner not knowing how to charge a battery safely. Additionally, EV users also face challenges with power theft, access control and unidentified energy consumption in shared parking spaces.

BOLT LITE has been designed to address all the issues arising from ineffective home charging and provides EV consumers with a safe and affordable solution to charge their EVs. BOLT LITE is compatible with two, three and four wheel EVs and requires no additional infrastructure and can be installed in under 30 minutes with little to no maintenance. It offers dual-layer of protection with an in-built MCB that automatically switches off electrical circuits during any abnormal condition in the electrical network such as overload and short circuit conditions. Furthermore, the smart energy meter provides bifurcation for energy consumed by the BOLT LITE charging socket vs. the power supply of the home via the BOLT app. BOLT LITE is IP65 certified and therefore provides complete protection from dust, oil, water and other non-corrosive material and can endure all weather conditions. Not only does BOLT LITE give an efficient power transfer, users also get faster charging to help ensure their EV is fully charged overnight.

BOLT LITE is India’s first smart charging socket that is IoT-enabled and helps connect EV users across the country. It comes with an energy calculator to monitor the power consumption and gives the user access to a lifetime of passive income. Owners can choose to switch the device status between ‘Public’ and ‘Private’, where ‘Public’ charging sockets are open to the public and are available for booking on the BOLT app. The charging sockets marked as ‘Private’ are exclusively for the use of device owners. Furthermore, BOLT LITE can be operated with or without the BOLT app and supports both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and WiFi communication. When set to private mode, BOLT LITE does not require the internet or the BOLT app to be operated.

Consumers can place an order for BOLT LITE via the BOLT website, any of the channel partners or dealers/distributors. BOLT has partnered with more than 25 OEMs globally, including 7 out of the top 10 OEMs in India to build a safe, smart and connected ecosystem for electric vehicles.
