The Taiwan Excellence pavilion at the Taiwan Expo 2019 is creating a major buzz as visitors are treated to some sterling products and hi-tech gadgets. The overwhelming response received during the first edition of the Expo urged the participation of Taiwan Excellence this year as well.
Scheduled from May 16 to 18 at New Delhi's Pragati Maidan, Taiwan Expo is an important platform to forge a network between Taiwanese and Indian companies for exploring business opportunities together. It is organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and support from India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).
During the three-day event, Taiwan Excellence pavilion will prove to be a major highlight as it showcases a range of tech products that define the innovation of Taiwan. Tapping the fast-growing market in India, several Taiwanese brands have put up a splendid show of some cutting-edge award-winning products from their repertoire, each boasting state-of-the-art technology. The pavilion showcases a range of products such as ICT, healthcare equipment, lifestyle enhancement appliances and gadgets. Visitors have been making a beeline to the pavilion to experience first-hand various Taiwanese brands that are proving to be great attractions.
This year, Taiwan Excellence has displayed some highly advanced and innovative tech products. The featured brands include Accton, ADATA, AIFA, Annie's Way, Apacer, ASUS, AVer, AVISION, BINTRONIC, Bubbling Plus, Buder, CyberPower, Edimax, Edgecore, FECA, GIGABYTE, KARMA, KENDA, MSI, Optoma, Plustek, ProtectLife, Saeko, Thermaltake Tokuyo, TSC, Unite Creative Design and VICTOR.
Taiwan is looking at increasing its footprint in India in a major way through key investments in areas such as smart solutions, hardware, software, and electronics that are driving bilateral trade between the two countries. Bullish about the business climate in India, Taiwanese companies are feeling confident to enter the Indian market. Several MOUs have been signed between Indian and Taiwanese companies in the recent past. Taiwan is also keen to set up an electronics manufacturing cluster in Gujarat for which an MOU was signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January.
The total trade between Taiwan and India was the highest in last five years in 2018 and has increased by 10.87% as compared to 2017. For two consecutive years, India was Taiwan's 16th largest trading partner.
Addressing media on the sidelines of the expo, Mr. James Huang, Chairman of TAITRA, said, "This is the second time Taiwan Excellence participating in the Taiwan Expo held in India. The response to TE pavilion was overwhelming last year and visitors gave very positive feedback. Taiwan is known for its cutting-edge tech products and Taiwan Excellence have always supported all of India's digital missions including initiatives like Make in India, Digital India and Skill India. Taiwan Expo's India edition is a great platform for us to share our expertise in the field of technology with Indian and international companies."
Echoing similar thoughts, Mr. Walter Yeh, President & CEO TAITRA said, "This expo is going to be a very fruitful platform for us because we will be able to connect and collaborate with so many different companies and brands in India. The response from visitors even on Day 1 has been very encouraging. We hope to create some great networks with Indian companies so that we can provide full support to all of the Indian government's digital initiatives."
Taiwan Expo is considered to be a major facilitator in developing Taiwan's bilateral trade relations with its neighboring countries. It was conceived as a result of the implementation of Taiwan's new Southbound Policy to create mutually beneficial partnerships with its southern neighbors. Besides showcasing Taiwanese products and services, the expo serves as a platform for Taiwanese and Indian companies to further their cooperation.
The Taiwan Excellence pavilion has always been popular with visitors at Taiwan Expos held in various countries. It seeks to promote Taiwan's culture of technological innovation and cutting-edge design and provides an appropriate platform to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations.
