Alka Nangia Arora, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, inaugurated on Tuesday evening GlobalSoft 2020, a forum bringing Indian SMEs and Foreign buyers on a single platform here in the city at HICC, Madhapur.
GlobalSoft is organised by ESC-Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council.
Addressing 400 plus delegates from 60 countries, the top official of the MSME ministry said, MSMEs worldwide speak the same language. Their problems, challenges, opportunities are similar across the globe.
She announced that the Ministry will host the 3rd edition of International SME Convention on 16th and 17th April, 2020 in New Delhi. Delegates from over 70 countries are expected to participate, she added
The event is supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The next edition of the event is slotted to discuss the problems of global MSME and will give an opportunity to handhold, evolve uniform policies to facilitate more joint ventures and production cooperation among the SME sector cutting across geographies.
Stating further, Ms Alka Nangia Arora shared that India is the World's Largest Market comprising of 350 Million Urban Consumers and has over 2 million hi-growth SMEs with an annual growth rate of 20%.
International SME Convention is the foremost International platform for discussing & sharing best practices for enterprise development, facilitating business discussion and encouraging trade partnerships by and between innovative, progressive and sustainable small and medium enterprises, from all over the world.
She hoped that lot of Joint Ventures are signed at the GlobalSoft 2020.
Congratulating Mr. Nalin Kohli, Chairman, GLOBALSOFT for initiating the much needed platform for global SMEs in the ICT sector, Ms. Arora wished that it would soon emerge as a powerful forum for rallying small and midsize companies, across the world, which are key to creating employment, investment and technology cooperation and joint ventures. "Perhaps, a few years down the line, some SMEs in India and their counterparts elsewhere in the world can put together their minds and expertise to create a software, which would be of great value to the entire chain of manufacturing units and can create disruptive technologies that can enhance the efficiency of SMEs, like what Ola and Uber have done in taxi hairing," she said.
India is home to 63 million MSMEs. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector is an important pillar of Indian economy contributing greatly to growth of Indian economy. Nearly 110 million people work in these MSMEs, producing diverse products and services and contributing greatly to the nation, stated Mr D. Chandra Sekhar, Addl Industrial Adviser, MSME & DG, NI MSME.

Our programs help MSMEs gain access to a pool of trained graduates for suitable roles. Our students are trained extensively in latest technologies to help companies and MSMEs find the right candidate, he shared.
Quoting an example of Apple's recruitment advertisement, which sought ITIs and Polytechnic students rather than Engineering students. The reason the company said to have revealed later that they preferred those who can handle screwdriver rather than those who just know the definition of screwdriver
As many as 676 colleges, 1,84,689 students are registered with TASK. We have so far trained 2,86,761 students in various aspects of the employment. We have also trained 5701 faculty, Sinha added
Technology along with domain knowledge is very important, Sinha stated.
Ravindranath, Former CMD of NSIC said like the sport Cricket which binds India, MSMEs bind India's economy. MSMEs are providers of solutions to all kinds of problems he informed.
Mandeep Singh Puri, Chairman of ESC said, more than 60per cent of 2300 members of ESC are MSMEs. ESC stands for partnerships, he added.
Mr Nalin Kohli, Chairman of GlobalSoft said 70 exhibitors from 50 countries are exhibiting their IT products and services at the GlobalSoft 2020. Mr. Kohli observed that the GLOBALSOFT will be an effective vehicle for promoting sharing of knowledge, transfer of technology and setting up joint ventures between Indian and foreign SMEs in areas like smart cities, cyber security etc, since not many foreign SMEs can invest on their own in other country and they would always need a local partner.
This Mega Global MSME Business Summit which will be held tomorrow as part of the GlobalSoft, will be addressed by senior policy makers as well as Indian and global industry representatives.
