Skill-Lync has announced that it has built an in-house Electric Vehicle to help its students gain insights into the future of the automotive industry. In line with the company’s vision of providing deep expertise to its students, the vehicle has been built by a team of 6 in-house experts at Skill-Lync in collaboration with professionals from leading OEMs in the country.
Built over a course of 9 months and at an approximate cost of INR 5 Lakhs, the EV is made with a view to providing its students with practical knowledge of what goes behind building an Electric Vehicle. The EV currently has a top speed of 45 kmph with a range of 40 km. It has a carrying capacity of 5 people and can reach an acceleration from zero to top speed in 6 seconds.
Skill-Lync is also offering its students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience on the actual process of building an EV and building EV prototypes on their own. The company plans to launch a series of masterclass videos that will visually present the EV building process.
Skill-Lync aims to continue building more such EV prototypes, that will be autonomous on the back of cutting-edge instrumentations and sensors. Through this practical interface, Skill-Lync aims to augment its EV and automotive programs and strengthen the knowledge offered through its coursework.

Ather Energy to Set-up EV Charging Grids Across The Country
Magenta ChargeGrid signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ather Energy, electric scooter manufacturer, to install Ather Grid fast chargers across charging locations. These charging stations shall be managed by Magenta under the ChargeGrid platform. This partnership is one of India’ first where integrated charging across 2W, 3W and 4W will be provided at a single location. This will give Ather access to multiple locations across India and aims to collectively accelerate the pace of expansion of public charging networks and the adoption of EVs in India.
Magenta ChargeGrid is currently expanding its charging network to 35-40 cities in India with the aim to set up a network of around 11000 chargers by the end of FY23. This partnership with Magenta ChargeGrid will give Ather Grid access to premium locations across Tier I, Tier II & Tier III cities and highways in India and provide wider coverage for EV customers. These locations are strategically placed to make it easily accessible to EV owners and will also have desired electricity load availability for operations of the chargers.

Magenta ChargeGrid has formed alliances with prominent DISCOMs across the country such as BSES, BESCOM and other key discoms with the goal of establishing a stronger EV charging ecosystem. The firm is also collaborating with multiple corporations in India with present association with bodies like Indore Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation. This is in addition to our ongoing strategic tie-ups with key hotel chains such as Fern, IBIS, amongst others, to build EV charging infrastructure within cities and on highways.

In the next 3 years, Ather plans to install 5,000 fast chargers across India, and these strategic partnerships are progressive steps towards the goal.
Ather Energy has expanded its retail footprint across key cities in India and is currently present in 31 cities with 36 retail stores. Over the next three years, Ather plans to increase its annual production capacity to one million scooters from four lakhs by the end of 2022, develop new products and increase its network to 600 stores.
Greta Electric Scooters Opens New Manufacturing Unit at Faridabad￼
Greta Electric Scooters announced the setting up of a manufacturing unit at Faridabad. This move aims to expand its footprint in the Northern Indian market and is in response cater to the growing demand of electric vehicles.
The proximity to the National Capital Region and excellent access to the Northern Belt made Faridabad the destination of choice. This move will help reduce both cost & time to get products out to the market in the region.
The manufacturing facility with a capacity of producing 30,000 units annually will manufacture all models of Greta Electric Scooters.
With this move now Greta Electric Scooters will be able to reach its dealerships in 15-20 days across the region.

The battery casing is built of lightweight metal which is also thermally conductive when compared to other materials.
