Renault India Partners with CSC Grameen eStore to Improve Rural Outreach

In order to strengthen its rural presence and move closer to the customers in the remote areas, Renault India announced its partnership with CSC Grameen eStore, a subsidiary of CSC eGovernance Services India Limited (CSC-SPV). As a part of the partnership, Renault India’s leading product range will be listed on the CSC Grameen eStore and made available to the potential customers in hinterlands through aspirational Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs).

CSC Grameen eStore is an eCommerce initiative by CSC (under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) to promote digital ordering and delivery in rural areas, making digital inclusion of rural India a reality. To facilitate smooth rural e-commerce, Renault will build a mechanism that would facilitate the supply of its products to Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) who will help list the products on select CSC Grameen eStores. The VLEs will further promote, generate enquiries, and facilitate sale to end customers in rural areas through the support of respective Renault Authorised dealerships.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, “We see tremendous potential in the rural markets, and are aggressively pursuing with an innovative and comprehensive strategy to amplify and grow our presence in Rural India. The digital transformation has brought about a revolutionary change in dissipating physical boundaries and hinderances, helping bring different rural and semi-urban markets onto a common platform. We curated ‘sons of the soil’ strategy, wherein we recruited 500 educated youngsters from rural and small towns, trained them and put them as rural sales engineers to market Renault cars. This is yet another initiative to enhance our reach within the country and create a strong network in the rural market.

“We are extremely confident that this partnership will pave the way for digital and economic empowerment and will further boost our efforts to deliver consumers’ favourite Renault car at their doorstep,” he added.

Dr. Dinesh Tyagi – CEO, CSC SPV said, “The idea for Grameen e-Store exemplifies Prime Minister’s call for Atmanirbhar Bharat by creating opportunities for rural youth and being vocal for local. Through this initiative, VLEs are playing a critical role in connecting producers and companies with the rural consumers right at their doorsteps. Partnering with Renault will allow the Grameen eStore to have first four wheeler brand, while providing customers in rural areas easy access to its great products and services.”

“The tie-up with Renault will certainly prove a milestone for CSC in facilitating world class product and services in the rural India. Our VLEs will avail themselves of this two-way opportunity first, in learning the basics of Renault cars and then in enhancing their means and resources,” he added.

As a part of its Rural Amplification Strategy, Renault initiated a special project last year – VISTAAR – to amplify and grow presence in rural India. In order to move closer to the customers in the remote areas and showcase its new compact sub four meter SUV KIGER, Renault India recently launched a new initiative ‘Rural Float’, a fully functional mobile showroom, that aims to provide complete Renault experience to the existing and potential customers in more than 360 towns across the country, especially in the rural markets across India.

Gozero Mobility Launches Skellig Lite E-bike

GoZero has taken the game against its peers a notch higher with its economically priced model, the Skellig Lite, making it an ideal choice for any e-bike lover, especially with the beginners.

Priced at only Rs. 19,999/-, the Skellig Lite maintains a perfect balance between product and price. Its unique aesthetic, packaged in a pocket-friendly price point, has made it a hit on the Indian roads. The Lite is designed in a way that they are best suited for city rides and beyond.

It has a range of 25 km (at the medium level of pedal-assist), with a maximum speed of 25 kmph. The bike is powered by a detachable EnerDrive 210 Wh lithium battery pack and a 250 W rear hub-drive motor, and is controlled by the GoZero Drive Control 2.0 LED display unit allowing the rider to choose between three pedal-assist modes. The battery takes just over 2.5 hrs to recharge. Despite the economical pricing, the build quality has not been compromised with. The Lite includes an alloy stem handle, with 26×1.95 tyres, specialized V-brakes and a rigid front fork.

Reluctance to use public transport and shared mobility due to Covid, along with the practice of social distancing has resulted in a surge in the sales of e-bikes around the world, over the last year.

With the launch of the Skellig Lite, GoZero has taken its first step into its Switch Campaign – one kick-started with the objective to drive the major chunk of Indian city-dwellers to ‘switch’ to from their current mode of transport to e-bikes. Renault India Launched its Hindi Website

Renault India has launched its full-fledged Hindi website. With this, Renault India becomes the first four-wheeler automotive brand to launch a bi-lingual website (English & Hindi), taking another step towards enhancing its familiarity and consumer connect with the Brand. Offering customers language of choice as an interface, the website will enable customers who wish to access the website in Hindi, to efficiently avail information related to Renault’s entire product range and services, enabling direct access to a large portion of potential customer base adopting Internet throughout the country.

The consumption and demand for content in regional languages has increased significantly over the last few years. India has over 624 million internet user base, with more than 90% users prefer  consumption of content in Hindi and Regional language. Hindi and Regional content consumption on the internet has witnessed a staggering 50% growth over the last year. The growing prominence of regional content and customers demand for accessing the internet in Hindi, has been a key driver for Renault to include regional outreach as an important part of its customer connect strategy.

Renault India has significantly enhanced its digital capabilities and portfolios with online booking options and other interventions, providing the best of the services to its customers in these challenging times. In addition to demo through the Renault virtual studio, website booking facility and MYRenault App, Renault India launched the Renault Virtual Assistant (RVA) last year, offering personalized customer experience round the clock to potential buyers and existing customers. As part of the customer connect strategy to further strengthen the regional reach, RVA, currently in English, will be available in three regional languages including Hindi, Marathi and Tamil by the end of July’21.

With ‘Rural Float’, Renault has been able to showcase the newly launched sub-four meter compact SUV, Renault KIGER to its potential customers in rural markets, engaging more than 23,000 customers in 233 towns across 13 states, facillitaing 2700 test drives. Together with its product portfolio expansion strategy to drive volumes in India, Renault is substantially increasing its network reach in India and introducing several unique and pioneering initiatives to ensure that customers’ have an unparalleled association with the Renault brand. Currently, Renault India has more than 500 sales and service touchpoints in India, which include 200+ Workshop On Wheels locations across the country.
