Magenta in collaboration with Central Railways inaugurated Public EV charging station along the Parel Railway Station. The charging station was inaugurated by Shri. Subhash Desai, Hon. Minister of Industry and Mining. Over the next two weeks, Magenta shall also set up the EV charging station along the Dadar and Byculla Railway stations.
The first of its kind public charging station will be functional 24*7 initially with the unique Made in India Streetlamp Integrated EV Charging Stations (ChargeGrid FLARE) and subsequently with DC Fast chargers. This combination of AC and DC chargers will support 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers. These chargers can be operated through the ChargeGrid App with online remote monitoring which includes an automated payment gateway, thereby eliminating the need of having a station marshal to monitor, maintain & operate the chargers at the location.
Magenta is currently installing 4500 chargers across 108 cities in India (2950 chargers under the FAME-2 scheme along REIL; more than 1200 chargers along Petrol stations such as HPCL and others; 82 at FERN Hotels; Residential chargers in collaboration with Government of Delhi; Residential chargers at Bengaluru Apartment Federation). This will support the government initiative of setting up 400,000 charging stations to meet the requirement for two million Electric Vehicles (EV) that could potentially ply on its roads by 2026.

iVOOMi S1 Electric Scooter Test Rides to Begin on 28 May
iVOOMi Energy to begin with the test ride of iVOOMi S1 e-scooters on May 28, 2022. With its previously launched iVOOMi e-scooters, customers have so far driven 5 million green kilometers in the past two years, authenticating its reliable technology and pioneering innovation. In the first phase, the much-awaited iVOOMi S1 is rolling out test rides at its dealerships in the cities – Pune, Nagpur, Gondia, Mumbai, Nanded, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Ahmednagar, Surat, Bhavnagar, Adipur, and Kachh, followed by all other dealerships pan India by 05 June.
The vehicles will be available across multiple touchpoints in these cities to ensure as many people can experience the S1. Interested customers can reserve their test-ride slots on the iVOOMi Energy website, along with an option to pre-book the e-scooter post-test ride at INR 749. The S1 e-scooter is approved by International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and registered by Regional Transport office (RTO) will be delivered starting in June, and the company promises on-time delivery.
Designed and manufactured in India, the iVOOMi S1 is powered by a 2kW electric motor that offers a top speed of 50-54 kmph. The electric scooter gets a 60V, 2kWh swappable Li-ion battery pack for quick replenishment of battery charge, relief from domestic charging woes, etc. It offers a riding range of 100 km on a full charge and can be fully juiced up in 3-4 hours, making it a reliable choice for customers.
iVOOMi Energy is one of the few players in the country riding the electric mobility wave with its unique battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model that makes it more cost-effective and convenient for customers as compared to conventional scooters. The S1 is expected to continue the legacy success of the previous models at a price of Rs 84,999 and with a major user interface update, keeping in line with the segment’s higher expectations.

Ather Energy to Set-up EV Charging Grids Across The Country
Magenta ChargeGrid signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ather Energy, electric scooter manufacturer, to install Ather Grid fast chargers across charging locations. These charging stations shall be managed by Magenta under the ChargeGrid platform. This partnership is one of India’ first where integrated charging across 2W, 3W and 4W will be provided at a single location. This will give Ather access to multiple locations across India and aims to collectively accelerate the pace of expansion of public charging networks and the adoption of EVs in India.
Magenta ChargeGrid is currently expanding its charging network to 35-40 cities in India with the aim to set up a network of around 11000 chargers by the end of FY23. This partnership with Magenta ChargeGrid will give Ather Grid access to premium locations across Tier I, Tier II & Tier III cities and highways in India and provide wider coverage for EV customers. These locations are strategically placed to make it easily accessible to EV owners and will also have desired electricity load availability for operations of the chargers.

Greta Electric Scooters Opens New Manufacturing Unit at Faridabad￼
Greta Electric Scooters announced the setting up of a manufacturing unit at Faridabad. This move aims to expand its footprint in the Northern Indian market and is in response cater to the growing demand of electric vehicles.
The proximity to the National Capital Region and excellent access to the Northern Belt made Faridabad the destination of choice. This move will help reduce both cost & time to get products out to the market in the region.
The manufacturing facility with a capacity of producing 30,000 units annually will manufacture all models of Greta Electric Scooters.
With this move now Greta Electric Scooters will be able to reach its dealerships in 15-20 days across the region.
