Paytm has announced that it has onboarded Digilocker to its Mini App Store. With this, Paytm users will be able to save and access their digital documents in a safe and secure manner.
DigiLocker is a secure cloud-based platform for storage, sharing and digital verification of documents & certificates, provided by MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information technology) under Digital India Corporation (DIC). Some of the most popular use cases for DigiLocker are accessing Driving License and Vehicle Registration Certificate, Aadhar Card, Mark Sheets among others. Users can also utilise Digilocker documents for self KYC and video KYC with telecom operators, online share trading platforms and other fintech platforms as required. DigiLocker documents are legally recognized on par with original documents, as per the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Users can access their DigiLocker within the Paytm app to retrieve, add, save/store and even receive verified electronic copies of documents from registered organizations directly into individual lockers eliminating the need to carry physical documents. Users who have booked COVID-19 Vaccines through Paytm can add their Vaccine Certificates with one click to Digilocker.
To view and access the documents users can go to the profile section under ‘Your Documents’ on the Paytm App. DigiLocker documents once added on Paytm can be accessed by users even when they are in low connectivity zones or offline.
The Mini App store was launched on Paytm app to make it a space for developers and businesses to launch their apps and leverage Paytm’s user base. Today, it houses several businesses who use Paytm’s reach to grow their user base, reach out to consumers, enable their existing users to access services easily and more. Through the Mini App Store on the Paytm app, users can book a cab, order food, book doctor’s appointments or order medicines, health supplements, purchase travel & entertainment tickets, and book slots for COVID vaccinations.
Paytm spokesperson said, “We are excited to bring the Digilocker functionality to the Paytm App. Millions of users who open the Paytm app for vaccine booking, travel, FASTag, insurance, KYC and many other use cases, will be elated to have the DigiLocker functionality which will enable convenience and easy access to important documents.”
MeitY spokesperson said, “DigiLocker’s aim, aligned with the Digital India mission, is to provide to all Indian citizens a digital platform for paperless services. Our partnership with Paytm Mini App, will extend DigiLocker’s services to Paytm’s users, who can access important documents like Aadhar, Driving License and more at one place, and exclude the need to carry all paper documents with them.”
Qlan App Now Available on Google Play Store
Adding an edge to the esports segment, Qlan announced their successful launch on Google Play Store with 50,000 pre-registrations on Thursday. The exclusive platform presents a whole new approach to connect and engage with the gaming and esports community with a vision of creating a robust and sustainable ecosystem.
The platform is developed for gamers, gaming professionals, squads, orgs, tournament organizers, content creators and other stakeholders in the industry to build, find and exchange value to further their growth. The brainchild of Sagar Nair, co-founder and CEO, and Navin Talreja, co-founder and CBO, Qlan, envision the growth of the esports industry while being one of the enablers in the process.
“It is a surreal feeling to successfully launch Qlan. Gaming and esports is our passion and we understand the massive potential that this segment has. While in the existing social setup, gamers and the esports ecosystem were unable to address various issues like making the right connections, proper recognition for their in-game talent, a structured system for players and skilled individuals to showcase their skills, creating and sharing content in one designated gaming only platform. The idea is to unite the existing fragmented communities and facilitate value exchange amongst them. These lacunas in the existing social system obstructed the right talent from getting tapped. And that is what prompted Qlan’s inception, it will address existing grassroot problems that the gaming ecosystem has been facing in the social space all this while,” Sagar Nair, Co-founder and CEO of Qlan said after the launch of the App.
It is a genre-specific one stop networking app with some of the key features like:
1. Create custom solo, squad & org profiles
2. Showcase gaming skills by syncing in-game statistics
3. Share gaming & esports content with an option to monetise early
4. Promote esports tournaments, brands & IPs to a targeted audience
5. Access AI-enabled gamer matchmaking for verified connections
This AI-based networking app offers the stakeholders in the business and the thriving esports community to meet, communicate and get discovered. Providing optimum opportunities to new prospects while augmenting the industry further.
“We are eagerly looking forward to how our early users respond to Qlan. After months of research and gathering insights by conducting various pro-to type surveys and trials we were able to understand the existing, unattended problems, and that motivated us to come up with the solution—QLAN. Qlan is built with a focused vision on uniting the key stakeholders in the industry to build, find and exchange value to bolster their own communities and business. We believe it would prove to be an industry game changer. Whether you’re looking to go pro, find your esports squad, seek professional opportunities in the industry, in Qlan you have a trusted enabler for anything you want to achieve in the gaming and esports space” said Navin Talreja, Co-founder and CBO after the launch.
With the successful app launch, Qlan envisions becoming the most trusted and secured platform for the gaming and esports community. The app is currently accessible to android users and it plans to soon launch the app for iOS users as well.
Telegram’s Sponsored Message Feature to Help Users Promote Their Channels
Telegram is launching Sponsored Messages – a tool that allows anyone to promote their channels and bots. Here is what you should know:
1. There will be no ads in chats on Telegram. If you use Telegram as the messenger that we launched in 2013 – you will never see a sponsored message. Sponsored messages can’t appear in your chat list, private chats or groups.
2. User data will not be used to target ads. As with everything we do, our main priority is protecting the private data of our users. That’s why unlike other apps we will not use your private data to display ads.
Sponsored messages on Telegram are shown only in large public one-to-many channels with 1000+ members – and are based solely on the topic of the public channels in which they are shown. This means that no user data is mined or analyzed to display them.
3. We are fixing ads that are already here. Some admins of one-to-many channels on Telegram already post ads in the form of regular messages. We hope that Sponsored Messages will offer a more user-friendly and less chaotic way for people to promote their channels and bots.
Sponsored messages are currently in test mode and are not available to everyone. Once they are fully launched and allow Telegram to cover its basic costs (such as equipment and data centers that are used by channel admins to deliver their content to our hundreds of millions of users), we plan to start sharing ad revenue with the admins of the channels where Sponsored Messages are displayed – because it is fair.
4. With Telegram you’re more ad-free than with WhatsApp. WhatsApp already shares user data with advertisers – even though they don’t show ads themselves. On Telegram, however, advertisers will never get your private data. Besides, if you use Telegram the way you use WhatsApp, you will never see a single ad. Sponsored messages can only appear in channels, which are a unique social networking feature Telegram added several years after launch. If WhatsApp introduces a similar feature, they are likely to also display ads there, like their parent company already does on Instagram and Facebook.
Online ads should no longer be synonymous with the abuse of user privacy. We’d like to redefine how a tech company should operate by setting an example of a self-sustainable platform that respects its users and content creators.
Paytm Monry Now Offers Voice-based Trading
Paytm announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Paytm Money has launched Voice Trading, that allows users to place a trade or get information about stocks via a single voice command. This service has been launched in line with Paytm Money’s efforts to offer next-gen and AI driven tech to elevate user experience.
In the age of digital trading, there are movements in a matter of seconds, and the speed of order placement and execution are of prime importance. From searching the stock, to entering specific price and quantity, means that users on average tap the screen multiple times per trade to get desired outcomes.
Paytm Money’s R&D team leveraged its experience in disruptive tech to specifically solve this problem with Voice Trading. The voice trading feature enables a single voice command, with the use of Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to allow instant processing. With the advent of 5G, smart devices and a hyper-connected world, the way we live and transact will change, voice based transactions will slowly become mainstream and this is the first step to embrace the power of Video/Audio.
Varun Sridhar, CEO of Paytm Money said, ”At Paytm Money, our focus has always been to elevate user experience and be the first to leverage technology to make investing faster, cheaper and easier. With a mobile-first and interconnected world of devices and the much awaited launch of 5G, the Voice Trading feature enables users to skip the usual 5 to 6 step process of trade in a dynamic environment with simple voice commands. We believe that this will improve user experience over time and will bring more convenience to tech-savvy investors. We are doing a lot of R&D on newer technologies and this is one of the first products to be launched” Voice Trading is currently being rolled out in Beta to select users and will be available to all users over the next weeks.
