“We Aim to Serve The Diverse Office Printing Needs of Indian Companies”

Konica Minolta has gradually established it's leadership position in Indian printer market by offering most advanced machines based on latest & innovative technologies. Also, with the recent launch of wide product range, they aim to serve the diverse office printing needs of Indian companies of all sizes. To know company's entire game plan for year 2020, Telecom Today spoke to Mr. Kuldeep Malhotra, Vice President – Office Sales & Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd recently.

Q: How do you see the brand's overall business growth in CY 2019?

A: Konica Minolta India's business performance in 2019 has been nothing short of spectacular and builds on the strong growth trajectory that we achieved in the preceding year. Having grown faster than the overall industry to achieve a year-on-year CAGR of 18% in 2018-19, we have registered a business growth of more than 700 crores last year and our target is to achieve revenue of 1000 crore by 2022-23. Our strong market footprint reflects our brand value in India. Konica Minolta has a strong presence in the Office Products space, holding around 17% in 2019-20

Q: What will be your overall business growth or target revenue for CY 2020?

A: Our Office Printing products contributed to almost 35% of the business in 2018-19. In 2020, we aim to build on this strong reception to further expand our market presence. Our objective is to make deeper inroads into the Office Products & especially highlight the colour machines.

Q: What will be your key focused products line-up /verticals in the year 2020?

A: As a brand, Konica Minolta already has a strong presence in the Indian market. In 2020, we want to target stronger growth in the SMB, corporate, and government segments with state-of-the-art product offerings. Through our go-to-market strategy in India is shaped and guided by the specific requirements of its business landscape. With our latest product launch, we aim to serve the diverse office printing needs of Indian companies of all sizes. We have launched both colour & mono products.

The Eagle series is a leading-edge A3 colour MFP series that comes in three variants – bizhub C360i (36 ppm), bizhub C300i (30 ppm), and bizhub C250i (25 ppm) – and is equipped with advanced print, copy, scan, and store capabilities. In addition to delivering excellent print quality, the Eagle L series differentiates itself from competing product ranges on the back of features such as a high-speed document feeder and an extremely user-friendly 10.1" full-touch screen display.

The Sparrow series is a best-in-class A4 color MFP series that comes equipped with printing, copying, scanning, and storing capabilities. Brightening up the monochrome printing segment, we have lunched The Deneb MLK and the Altair R.

Q: What will be your channel strategy to drive substantial growth?

A: Channel partners are the growth drivers for Konica Minolta in India and will remain an integral part of our go-to-market approach and strategy. We currently have around 150 channel partners across India. In keeping with our commitment to our channel ecosystem, we have made significant investments to introduce dedicated sales & service training and skill development programs on a pan-India level for partner teams. We are also conducting multiple BTL and digital activities, along with roadshows and exhibition participation, to help drive better business growth for Konica Minolta channel partners. Through these initiatives, we aim to drive mutual business growth – both for Konica Minolta India and our channel network.

Q: Please share your service support commitment for your loyal customers.

A: After-sales service & support is one of the key focus areas for Konica Minolta India, as well as its strongest differentiator. We currently boast of a customer satisfaction level of 96% in the service vertical. This has been made possible by our robust pan-India support network – which currently comprises 1000+ engineers including 300+ direct customers engineers and 700+ partners customer engineers across locations. We have also launched a customer support app aimed at streamlining end-user support for our customers by enabling them to remain connected 24/7.
