Radio City’s Salute to all the Frontline Warriors During the COVID-19 Fight

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared Covid-19 as a pandemic and asked every nation in the world to take immediate actions to detect, treat, and reduce the transmission to others. In the wake of this outbreak, Radio City has launched a noble initiative called 'Radio City ka Salaam, Corona fighters ke Naam' across 39 cities of Radio City's presence, to laud the frontline warriors like doctors, nurses, soldiers, etc. who are ensuring our safety by putting themselves at risk. The campaign has been leveraged across Radio City's social media platforms for listeners to stay updated.

To salute these heroes, Radio City RJs urged listeners to support PM Narendra Modi's Janta Curfew initiative and requested listeners to give a 5-minute applause at 5 pm to all our CORONA FIGHTERS. In tandem with the campaign, Radio City RJs across the nation are connecting with the families of these warriors and sharing their experience, along with providing advisory to all listeners on preventive measures from the wrath of the Covid-19. The RJs are also urging the citizens to make short videos thanking doctors, nurses, and other servicemen and upload it on their social platforms using #CoronaFighters and #RadioCity. Radio City will also be planning a Concert from Home where singers from their homes will entertain Radio City listeners on air.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Kartik Kalla, Chief Creative Officer, Radio City, said, "Today the whole world is talking about the need for social distancing and self-quarantine, but there are many people who can't do that because their jobs demand them to go to work. We are referring to fighters like doctors, nurses, policemen, airport authorities and many more who are fighting the deadly COVID-19 from the frontlines for the health and safety of the nation. 'Radio City ka Salaam, Corona fighter's ke Naam' a campaign executed across all our 39 stations, is our humble endeavour to salute the efforts of these heroes. We hope the threat of COVID-19 settles soon; until then, let's all give a hats off and say a quite prayer for our Corona fighters. We can't thank them enough for their dedication and spirit!"

Radio City is also carrying out several activities in Rajasthan and Gujarat, where the RJs are connecting with local government bodies on the preventive measures for the citizens. To infuse some light-hearted awareness-based entertainment in this crucial situation, RJs are playing song spoofs every hour to educate listeners about COVID-19.
