With the nation fighting against the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it's been Indian start-ups who have come to the fore and making a positive change in society by spreading awareness, maintaining precaution amongst people.

In their endeavour to get the country back on track at the very earliest, the past few months have seen the best of minds come together and start a community movement to develop utility solutions to deal with the crisis. Some have even partnered with local governments and agencies to launch apps, real-time trackers, and information guides to keep citizens abreast of the latest happenings around the country. With no vaccine currently available to COVID-19, these health-tech and citizen safety apps are providing features to track social distancing, infection, and symptoms amongst COVID-19 patients.

Here are few start-ups that are helping us fight COVID-19:

Reiterating the need to maintain hygiene 24*7, the app also gives one a reminder every 3 hrs to wash their hands.
  2. It has been using audiometric technology to detect respiratory illnesses such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) via cough sounds, and make functionalities of Spirometry available anywhere and anytime.
  3. AIkenist– Bengaluru-based AIkenist is trying to help through its artificial intelligence tool, which distinguishes COVID-19-related-pneumonia by analyzing lung damage in patients. It provides AI-based solutions for faster scanning and better detection, with quick turnaround solutions for healthcare problems.
  4. Qure.ai– Mumbai-based Qure.ai has developed a solution that can interpret coronavirus-related lung abnormalities within seconds. This helps triage patients who need to be tested further for COVID-19 using an RT-PCR test. Covid-19 patients need consistent monitoring of lung infection by screening chest X-rays and Qure.ai is able to read and interpret chest X-rays in seconds and diagnose how much of the lung is infected. The AI-powered solution can classify patients as High, Medium or Low risk for Covid-19 in less than a minute.
