Sunil Srivastava, Director, Operations & Marketing, SARANI Retail & Marketing Pvt. Ltd. talks about their operations and plans to strengthen their market position in year 2019.
DT: How has been the year 2018 so far for you?
Mr. Sunil: Year 2018 has been a successful year for us. SARANI as a distribution house, it was our 1st year and being the 1styear the results have been really satisfactory & encouraging. The overall ecosystem of distribution business is very challenging and full of competition but we strive to offer best quality products and best after service that helps us in sustaining in the market.We are equally focused on marketing and distribution of leading brands in India. Now onwards we are hoping to achieve a nice growth in next year and years.
DT: How are you currently working with your partners to strengthen your market position?
Mr. Sunil: We have tried to maximise our reach in across State of Uttar Pradesh instead of focusing in One City or Town. We have tried to engage with few selected partners of city instead of selling to every partner. This has kept our pricing healthy and channel partners have shown a good confidence & faith in us. Which has given us good results and will keep on doing the same way in future.We always take stands for our channel partners and support them according to their need.Our channel partners have helped us in expanding our reach to large customer base and their continuous efforts to increase monthly sale is phenomenal. We are now looking forward to further expand our network by connecting more channel partners and add more products to our portfolio.
DT: What is your overall roadmap to escalate your growth further in CY 2019?
Mr. Sunil: In 2019, we are going to add manpower in many more cities like Varanasi, Agra, Kanpur, Bareilly & Ghaziabad. Apart from adding manpower we are also very seriously thinking on adding some good product line, so that we shall be able to give a complete umbrella of products to make a full Desktop and additional options for Mobility and Notebooks. We can’t disclose the Brand name right now but there are few really good brands. Apart from this we are also focusing this to get into Government business both direct as well as through GEM with branded PCs.In addition to Distribution SARANI has also taken one step ahead in to Service sector and started an Official Service Centre for RAPOO, IdeaKard, 360 and many more Mobility and IT Brands. Right now we have only one centre in Lucknow but we hope to start atleast two to three more centres within 2019 in other cities.
DT: What will be the major challenges for Distribution houses in 2019?
Mr. Sunil: The market is really very slow moving hence realisation of funds is a real challenge in Distribution business. If the Chain breaks at any level whole system gets affected. Also, e-marketplace remains one of the major challenges for traditional distribution houses as customers prefer to do online purchasing and price difference attracts them to go for online. We often handle the pressure of market uncertainty, new technology advancements and political chaos which results in the market slowdown. These kinds of challenges hamper the overall performance of distribution houses. But we are in the condition to tackle such challenges and prepare to overcome with more power and dominate the condition. We educate our channel partners and conduct several training sessions where channel partners get more information and learn skills to be agile. Our workforce is ready to leverage every single opportunity and convert it into a big opportunity to grow.
