“Our New Corporate Avatar Brings A Lot Of Positivity In Our Business Ecosystem”

Distribution business in India has not been what it is today. Contribution from RP Tech India, formerly known as Rashi Peripherals, is well known fact across ICT industry. India's leading distribution house remained backbone of distribution ecosystem since its inception three decades ago. In recent time company has diversified its business model to cope up with new emerging market. Rajesh Goenka, Director, Sales and Marketing, RP tech India reveals his game plan for the new calendar year with DT.

DT: How has been the year 2018 for you?

Mr. Rajesh: The year 2018 has been the year of rejuvenation and a new beginning for us in a true sense. This year we unveiled our new corporate identity. We are now known as "RP tech India." Our new logo is fresh, vibrant and reflects our growth ambitions. It is the amalgamation of three strong colours Purple, Violet, Grey. The bold colour combination signifies our forward, futuristic thinking. It also indicates that the RP tech India as an organization is rich in Credibility, Strength and Professionalism. The 2 colour's sleek font states that we are now turning from existing to new dynamic success phase.

While our new corporate avatar brings a lot of positivity in our business ecosystem, our aspiration is to grow faster than the industry average. We will continue to achieve a double-digit growth YoY. In fact, the FY 2018 has been more consistent in terms of business as compared to the last two years, where demonetization and GST brought a lot of interruptions in the business. However, the dollar price rise has been the major challenge for the business this year and we are optimistic that this issue would be resolved soon.  Apart from this, the business has been smooth, consistent and growing at RP tech India.

DT: How are you currently working with your partners to strengthen your market position?

Mr. Rajesh: The channel remains the most important segment at RP tech India and we are continuously investing in marketing, training and development of our channel ecosystem. We normally segregate our channel partners in the four business verticals such as Components, Peripherals, PCD and Enterprise. We have seen an improvement in business hygiene in all the business categories, which has resulted in positive growth. Fortunately, with the RP tech India ecosystem of 50 branches, 50 service centres spread across 750+ locations, we will continue to improve our market penetration while consolidating our share in the metro locations in the country.

DT: What is your overall roadmap to escalate your growth further in CY 2019?

Mr. Rajesh: RP tech India's business philosophy is to grow products, brands and verticals. In the distribution space, it is very easy to have an inorganic growth, but we strongly believe in both organic and inorganic growth. Therefore, brands such as Logitech and Asus are associated with us since so many years and growing consistently, despite of addition of new brands in our distribution portfolio. We are also developing an Enterprise vertical along with the retail and mobile business.

DT: What will be the major challenges for Distribution houses in 2019?

Mr. Rajesh: While GST has enabled free movement of goods across the country, it has temporarily created MOP disturbance. Secondly, online continues to be the major challenge to the traditional channel, especially during the festive season. However, we feel that these are temporary disruptions and it will make us more agile, active and prepare us in advance to face newer challenges.
